Chaining a dog for life is one of the most common forms of cruelty. Chained and penned dogs who recieve little to no human interaction suffer extreme loneliness and boredom. These are intelligent social animals who crave attention and companionship. Left alone day and night for weeks, months and years they suffer mental breakdown and depression as a result of the lack of stimulation.
